Newbie speaking to a dealer about this watch (1968 145.012). Does not have the original bracelet but suggests everything else is original. What should I be asking? Assuming it all checks out, what is a reasonable price range for this watch? Appreciate any help you can provide. Thank you.
Looks good, where are you? As prices are different in usa or uk.. I think if price is right for you go for it!, Ian
I am in Copenhagen. In USD works out to $5K. Seems rich based on what I read here, but there's not a lot of inventory in this part of the world.
it looks like a 145.012-67. The hands are unattractive; is the hour hand chipped at the stem? Seems like a lot to pay for this watch especially with no bracelet. I think you can do better on eBay, OF or perhaps, chrono24. Lots of Speedmasters in other EU countries. I presume there is no duty charges to buy from them. Must see movement and serial number of any watch you choose. Good luck.
Here are the pics that I have. No duty charges, but sounds like the price was indeed rich. Thank you for the help. Nice to have support on this kind of decision. Will check chrono24.
I think the case is heavily polished, a no no, as well. Keep looking. The 145.012-67 is still a plentiful reference. You can definitely do better.
Those lugs look pretty sharp no? (that's one part I suck at assessing) The lume is nicely aged although the hands are a bit grubby, but those could probably be sourced or new ones aged if necessary. DON bezel is ok, not great, but ok, and that's a plus. It is true that these are fairly common and there may be better ones, but doesn't look that bad to me. Price may be a little high, but aren't they all these days?
