Probably not. But the re-issues can be had very reasonably.

    Yes.
Maybe you could even find one in platinum for that price if you dig the blue dial.

All vintage french military type 20 fit that request (except for Breguet of course).

That is my choice sir :)

If you ever want to sell, please add me to your DIBS-list. (Is there something like a general DIBS? If yes, please add me. Just for the case you decide to sell one or more of your dozens of Speedies.) :)

    Now for mine:

I thought that these pre-moon Speedies would cost more than $5k?!

The '62 and '67 above are lovely.

Did you guys just get great deals on them or are those sub-$5k prices pretty standard?

It was a good deal and it was still below 5k after a great 600$ service earlier this year.

All of my watches cost under 5 grand, so its like asking me to choose my favorite child!

    But if I must:

My Waltham model 1892 Vanguard, 21j. 18 size, railroad grade, diamond end stones.... the whole nine yards! Made in 1900. I bought it off a local Omega trained watch repair guy, fully serviced, for $400..... and yes it gets worn regularly!

The most I've ever spent on a watch was $500, I can not imagine spending $5000. But my favorite is this USAF issued Hamilton 4992B ($150). The dial confuses the hell out of most folks.

Just goes to prove life (and certainly watch collecting) isn't meant to be fair. Damn that's a good price for a 105.002-62. Most definitely congratulations to you, sir!

My b01 navitimer limited edition. Someone paid significantly more than $5k for it originally.

    I did not.

It's a great watch! I usually wear it on the rubber strap because it's very heavy with the bracelet.

I snagged this one for just under $4k back in Nov of 2014.
