35.9mm is juuuust below 36mm

 

If only I had any contemporary watches. I think my "newest" is about 30 yrs.old.

I now went even beyond, and got a very lovely 34mm Blancpain moonphase (2000's)!

 

The two that I modern watches I miss the most that fall into the "36mm and Under category", In order:

Tough, rugged, compact, discreet, timeless, classically stylish design, with high functionality

 

Maybe in the extreme cold of the Himalaya, the case would shrink just fractionally to less than 36mm
