The speedy is indeed a very good watch that goes with everything. But for me it just condenses into just 3 straps.

1. The OEM bracelet which we all see and know.

2. The brown leather strap. Kinda fancy but I feel doesn't quite match the character of the older vintage speedmaster.

3. And finally the NASA strap. Thanks to the posting of sky21, I got the Kizzy strap. Doesn't look like much at first, but I have to say this is THE best looking strap for the speedy. Very purposeful and matches the looks and feel of the watch. It just says that I am here for a purpose and I do my job.

 

Where did you get that brown leather strap?

 

It's a Hirsch Lucca strap. Got it on ebay.

 

That nylon strap looks excellent on your watch. Brown leather can be tricky. I looked for a long time before zeroing-in on what I think is a good leather colour for a non-vintage, hesalite Speedmaster. I'd call it dark brown calfskin.

I love my Ed White on a bracelet, but I like these combinations too..

 

Brown works good with some patina.

 

Certainly helps attaching that strap to a beautiful late model 2998, is it a -4 or -5?
