Perhaps we could pursued Mike to post, if not a shot of his whole watch, then a picture of one lug? He has the only NOS straight lug I have seen a photo of. Any one else?
Thank you everyone for all your excellent responses. Best forum I've ever joined. It's a journey. I'll keep you posted. DT
I posted this bezel on another thread (Bezel madness: Worst Speedmaster bezel on eBay) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/191560884950?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:ITPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network Anyone have any thoughts on whether it's a potential replacement for mine or not? Thanks DT
That'd be the correct bezel for the watch. As I understand it, what you have on it right now is the period-correct service bezel.
Members have chimed re over polishing and servicing. My 105003 has a beautiful front but was overpolished and of course needs service. Other than ABC, no one seems to do both steps of adding some finish and servicing. Since my chron hand does not return to zero I assume a part needs replaced. My take is to forget the polish issue and get the watch running to wear. Any other suggestions? Has any body stuffed an 861 in these little suckers to solve the problem. More horsepower and all that
Hi all. Does this look like the right pusher to you? http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=390999095879Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network English translation reads I could buy two but it's only the head part. Is that enough to make it right? Thanks in advance. DT. I am far from expert on the 105.003, but for some reason I don't like how the text is printed on the T SWISS MADE T, the Ts are different height to the SM and they seem to be applied differently, as in retouched. I might be totally wrong though.
Very sorry to all for the newbie question but could someone layout why sending it out through Omega for a full service would be a bad idea? Also, wouldn't Omega return the piece to factory specs?
Yeah I know ... Welcome to the forum. The problem with sending to Omega is that 1. It's more expensive than other alternatives 2. Returning it to factory specs is sacrilege for any vintage collector - and it will destroy the value of your watch. Many threads on this theme (one live right now) if you hunt around... Anyway - linger here, learn a lot, post pictures of your watches, wear them in good health, and have fun!
