Stopped in a jeweler that carries some interesting preowned pieces sometimes. Two of the guys recently were at a watch show in NYC.

Guy #1: "Should we show him what you brought home?"
Guy#2: "Sure, but it's nothing special..."

I know for some people Pateks are relatively common. But this was the first time I've ever held one, and just wow. You can feel how amazing it is.

I think grail has been redefined for me.

They also had this in the case, sorry for the poor photo.

PP are impressive in the metal. Sadly marvel turns to loathing when the price is discussed. :(

I'm fairly certain it is the reissue. Asking ~$4600 USD IIRC

My cousin has that PP in WG. A guy that I know has a 3970, which is a bit small but very nice. Another friend stopped by my former work place (going to see one of the guys in my office suite) and tossed me his 10 day tourbillon and then forgot to retrieve it for a few hours. But the one that I held and loved was a 5973 (I think; platinum case, black dial with diamond bezel), which would be a [probably unattainable] grail for me. Actually, any of the 5970's or 5070's would be. I should probably have pursued a different career!

I've seen Pateks in a couple of stores around me, never asked to have taken out of the case for me to see and no one has ever offered, it's apparent that I don't have Patek money

Diamondbrzel. 5971. Big bucks, rare, but over the top IMHO. But that movement.
