Remove chronograph feature.
Put it on a diet until it drops under 38mm wide without crown and 8mm thick.
Remove Speedmaster from the dial.
Add guilloché to the dial, along with applied red gold Breguet style numbers.
Red gold Alpha hands.

Voila!

Flat lug case, step dial (pre-moon style with SLN), alpha hands with lollipop second hand, hand-winding version of the 9900 calibre re-worked to be thinner and with flyback (two subdials with date at 6), 100m WR with waterproof pushers, 20mm lugs, domed sapphire, telemeter bezel, open caseback.

Available on rubber, alligator, and bracelet with microadjustment.

It'd be like $10k, but whatever. Worth it.

I think that would be a great evolution for the new modern Speedy👍...but I think the OP was asking for suggestions for your ideal Speedy Pro LE, which would probably lead to a requirement of a three dial setup and some hand wound calibre 321/861/1861 or something derived from these calibres.

Nope, that's my idea of a "Speedy Holy Grail" LE. Frankly I don't care for the vintage-style. I own two Speedmasters (one birth year, one moonphase), and I don't really find the need for another that's faithful to the old.

I'd really like a vintage sized modern Speedmaster, though, and a LE seems like a good way to do it.

Yes now I can understand what you are looking for...but I think if Omega did put in a rather significant design/manufacturing process effort to slim down the 9300/9900 calibre / add flyback etc. they would not apply it just for a modern Speedy LE.

I could see them perhaps offering a Speedy PM edition with hand-wound derived 9900 calibre, similar to what they did with the 8511 Tresor. This would require much less technical effort on their part. Well this is a "dream" thread so I suppose we can all "dream" whatever we want😀

A lot like the FOIS, maybe just 1 or 2 mm smaller, with a hesalite crystal, and I'd find it hard to say no.

Silvered dial, stick black hands, lume from the new one in the non crown guard case, hesalite,
