Again exciting news in our little esoteric research bubble on the subject of wrist watches worn in spaceflight...
As we just had to edit another topic title as PANERAI became the 8th wrist watch make used in outer space
https://omegaforums.net/threads/did-panerai-just-become-the-8th-wrist-watch-brand.141468/

.
1965, June 03 = Omega Speedmaster 105.003-63 ( Gemini IV - Ed white )
1966, Sept 13 = Glycine Airman automatic ( Gemini XI - Charles Conrad )
1971, Aug 02 = Bulova 88510 chronograph ( Apollo 15 - David Scott )
1994, Sept 09 = Fortis Official Cosmonauts ( TM-19 Mir-16 - Yuri Malenchenko )
2008, Sept 27 = Fiyta chronograph ( Shenzhou 7 - Zhai Zhigang )
2008, December 23 = Seiko Spacewalk Springdrive ( ISS Exp 18 – Yuri Lonchakov )
2021, September 03 = black chronograph ( ISS Exp 65 - Oleg Novitsky )
2022, January 19 = Panerai Radiomir ( ISS Exp 66 – Anton Shkaplerov )

Indeed during both September 3 and 9 ISS spacewalks, Russian cosmonaut Oleg Novitsky wore a large size black "Aviator" ? chronograph, strapped and taped to the lefthand forearm of his red-striped Orlan MKS n° 5 space suit
Also note the Omega Speedmaster on his righthand wrist

I thought the Panerai was an outlier but the watch above flown just four months before the Panerai makes it a trend. This watch and the previously identified Panerai seem a bit out of character for personal cosmonaut watches. They may be personal watches but I’m not sure. The Panerai covered in clear tape and the Duct Tape double strapped watch above leads me to believe these were arranged to be flown judging by the extra effort taken to protect them.

I thought getting a Speedmaster case back to the ISS and signed onboard was good, but whoever might be facilitating getting these watches to the ISS and out the door is really really good.

😕 busy black dial chronograph

Make and model unknown, huh?

Separately, has there been any further/better confirmation of the Panerai?

Move over Moonwatch... an epic article title showcasing the PANERAI in January 2022 😁
Meanwhile still on the ID-trail for the large size busy black dial chronograph used in September 2021 taped over the red-lined Orlan MKS spacesuit

Another good spot for the 8th watch @SpeedyPhill. Maybe post it on WRUW today to try and get an ID.
Chronograph, 12 hour bezel, offset logo - multiple sub dials and maybe a GMT function?
Maybe a digital?
Vostok and Casio have some similar watches but nothing seems to match. From your sourced pictures below hopefully someone here can ID this one.....

We need more threads about this. It’s true.

More interesting than a lot of them to a very few of us it seems - which is funny for Moonwatch people ....

Maybe if someone could ID the watch that would help .........the pictures are better than most we get of space watch use.

still trying to identify the large black chronographs... Oleg Novitsky didn't wear it upon return in October 2021
(Novitsky wore three Omega X-33 Speedmaster chronographs leaving the MS18 capsule).
Anton Shkaplerov might wear the PANERAI upon return by the end of March 2022
