I’ve decided to buy an omega speedy (look at me, already using a forum term). My dad wore a constellation he bought on the Queen Mary a long time ago, my first good watch was an Omega automatic bought in the 70s. I’m now looking at a blue faced speedy racing #326.30.40.50.03.001, although I might just go for the classic pro model. I’ve found grey market sellers that have good prices. I’ve learned here I owe it to myself to check out “trusted forum sellers” that offer a factory warrantee and still have attractive grey market discounts. I’m struggling to find those trusted forum sellers, is there a list or would someone reply with a few names? Been reading threads and learning. I’m active on other forums, I know the level of knowledge and experience here is way beyond my current comprehension, but we can learn lots just by reading threads. The advice to get a bracelet, even though I like a strap, since adding a strap later is an inexpensive option, another gem just from reading threads. Did I miss the big “trusted forum sellers” icon?
Thanks for the warm welcome. Like the guitar forum I visit, this is a friendly civilized place in a sometimes not so civilized world. A red icon with a number appeared at the top of my page, between the latest and auctions tabs. That red icon brings me to the auctions page. My powers of deduction tell me the trusted forum sellers are the ones at the auction page, thanks for the help.
Welcome to the Forum. There isn't a list of who is trusted to sell, as the intent of OF is primarily for watch collectors to gather and occasionally sell watches to each other. When you spend enough time here, you'll start to recognize certain names repeated often with good things said. You can browse through the feedback section found here: https://omegaforums.net/forums/watch-seller-profiles/ You can find 'dealer' watch ads here: https://omegaforums.net/forums/watches-for-sale/ You can find 'private' watch ads here: https://omegaforums.net/forums/private-watch-sales/ No one is allowed to post in the FS ads without having 200 posts on OF first. This doesn't guarantee they're a good seller, but it does give everyone a chance to get to know them before they start selling. Read more about the rules in the sticky found here: https://omegaforums.net/threads/ple...s-rules-for-all-listings-inc-parts-wtb.54177/
