Yema posted this on their social media just an hour ago, translated from French: Pretty exciting, not sure if this means they'll issue any but I'll bet there'll be some sort of civilian edition.
It will be a sweet surprise if it is an analog watch, I thought once they went digital there is no turning back. Photo credit to Marine Nationale by Watchistry
Exactly, our fishermen will go bust short time. I can recommend https://www.fishforthought.co.uk/ if anyone wants to help them.
Hooray for Yema! Fingers crossed they go old school and choose some kind of snazzy automatic chronograph. As for our poor fisherman, alas, if only they could eat all that sovereignty they voted for
We all enjoy analog mechanical watches but in practical terms it would be akin to using a cell phone from 1987. The modern g-shock type of watch is the tool watch that modern divers and military members use. They’re tough, accurate, easy to read, cheap, and have multiple functions.
Yes, not our finest moment... ...but very happy to see the current close collabs between Australian and French navies.
Seems like these images were released before the French press embargo was lifted- https://www.montres-de-luxe.com/Navigraf-Marine-Nationale-quand-Yema-devient-M-N_a16622.html Google translated - In 2021, the Navygraf de Yema will therefore be dressed in the colors of the French Navy: this new watch features a matt blue dial and proudly displays the French Navy logo placed at 6 o'clock and the anchor of the braids embossed on the crown. It is available in four versions: available in quartz (waterproof 200 meters) and automatic (39mm, waterproof to 300 meters), the model will also be offered with the GMT function in an edition limited to 1,000 pieces. The Navygraf Marine Nationale will also see the light of day in a 34mm version - 100 meters waterproof - to adapt to the female wrist. The timepieces are delivered in a collector's box and will be available for pre-order from May 6, 2021 on yema.com. Note that by purchasing a Navygraf Marine Nationale, a donation is paid to the social works of the Navy. A percentage of the price of each watch is donated to the foundation.
It's just branding, yema won't supply the marine... À whole line of various things including clothes was launched, with MN logo. Don't expect too much.
Yep nothing too too special, though the GMT using a bidirectional bezel (finally, Yema) is pretty nice and I like the no-date configuration of the regular watch. And I agree I think the MN logo would have been better on the caseback. I do think Yema's in-house GMT is one of the better values out there though, it's quite a bit nicer than a 2893 or Soprod equivalent. I won't be jumping on these but I think anyone who does will be quite pleased.
this looks like an interesting book. There is a nice write up of the MN GMT on Fratello. I did place an order on the GMT and will post when it comes (end of July, they say).
