    Dear Friends,

as a beginner in vintage omega world, I'm trying to focus on seamaster chronometer and constellation. Among all model of seamaster chronometer, there is 1 model of 166.032/168.023 and their variant that I like the most mainly due to the size and how it wears on the wrist. So far I manage to have gold capped of this for cal 752 non chronometer with sparkle dial and the one with cal 564 (forget the reference number) with non sparkle dial. In this few days before year end, I almost close the deal for an 18 YG BA166.032/168.023 sparkle dial cal 751. Below is the quick and dirty picture. Far from a perfect specimen, crystal need change (even though original), and new gasket + maybe movement service. The brush on the case is very light or almost gone but is still there. Edge still quite sharp I think. But what do you think friends, take it or pass it? Thanks Sherwin IMG_6400.JPG IMG_6399.JPG IMG_6395.JPG

You WILL need to see perfect, straight-on photos of the dial. Period.

The two main factors for these are
    1) The dial condition.
    2) The case condition.

I wouldn't buy a sparkle Seamaster unless the dial was perfect and the case in either perfect original condition or at least only showing moderate wear. It is possible to have these refinished beautifully, but that will need to be factored in along the servicing cost. From the photos here, I wouldn't rule it out.

Thank You for your advice.... here is the dial photo. Yes I inspired by the journey that Longbow has taken to restore the case. The price is the one that intriguing me and make my heart beat faster at a bit more than a 1000 EUR. seems the seller just quote the price the same as other 18K seamaster and deville that he sell.

The AML looks bent (right foot). I am not sure how typical that may be. That is a great/ up-close look at the dial!

These are great watches; a fantastic movement, good size/heft and one of those seemingly timeless (!) pieces Omega once in a while hit straight on.

That is a very decent price and the case looks as if refinishing isn't on the cards. I'd do it if it was me...

A very nice example that would look great once paired with a nice strap and in natural daylight/sunlight. I have a Seamaster with a silver sparkle dial and I find that it (along with other sparkle dial models) looks much nicer in person than in pictures.

isn't the Omega symbol an applied metal logo? Sorry if I erred!

Applied Metal Logo! Now I get it!

It does look slightly crooked. Not anything that would put me off.

At €1000 and change it's a no brainer, just buy it!

... and dibs, if I may.

I was thinking of refinishing the case as the brush on the top lug and the side case is very light. The polish part is not an issue though. Finally the quest is towards the end. Just need the stainless steel version and sparkle dial cal 564 and i’m done on this series :)
