I want to see you in action in NYC!

Are you in Manhattan? I will probably be heading down to 47th by the end of this month. Even more fun if Chelsea weekend markets open up soon!

Brooklyn so just across the river. Who knows when Chelsea is reopening. Also, haven't been in mid-town since February so know idea what 47th street looks like anymore.

Last time I was there it was dealer-to-dealer only and no public access to the majority of the buildings. Outside biz was as usual. I will be talking to a friend who works there this weekend and see if the place is starting to open up more.

This may be more of a vent. But I have been searching for an honest UG polerouter forever but everytime one goes up for sale there is some flipper within minutes that snags it and posts it for sale on Ebay, forums, or Instagram for like 2K+. These flippers are single handedly taking the soul out of collecting and have been inflating prices at the same time. Gold plated 2K euros?! Black dial ss 2800 euros?! Cmon. Let me buy a peice to enjoy and WEAR not for greed. This applies to a few other peices that have been on my radar too. Can someone kick these douches out and start a rebellion in which if they are caught flipping just to flip they are ridiculed and denied business?! Haha.

it is still possible, I got this earlier this year for 1.4k. Not the 600-700 seen 3-4 years ago but also not as high as 2+ k

You need to think on the curve. Polerouters are on the top of the curve and have been for two years.
You should be spending on watches on the curve up.

😗 like Nivada Antarctic,s and Zodiac,s that have slowly going up $100+ a year for a few years.

$50 Swiss watch bought from a back street antique store. Couldn’t have paid any quicker than I did.

Well alrighty then. If you want to fly anywhere I will help you out with the very best two places on earth I have ever seen for watch treasure hunting.......

Thanks for taking the time to write that. I'm thousands of miles from either spot but found it very interesting all the same 👍

Why?
Why is everyone treating old watches like stocks?
Why cant you just buy a watch because you like it?

This sort of thinking is the reason behind the OPs complaint in the first place...

An alternative interpretation of Standy's comment is a practical answer for the OP: wait a few years, the price may have tanked.

It happens everywhere bruh ... some people did that for living.

The common ones usually deal with sneakers and hypebeast items.

I took plenty of economic courses and I get supply and demand. Buuuuut it still sucks and I wanted to vent about it lol. I am sure there are plenty of non flippers that get bummed by this as well. 😉

Like how I would love to get some jordans for retail ... peace

I was there last week-- it was pretty bustling. The mall at 37 W47th had traffic and my guy there said he's been busy with repairs. I also visited a store in the building next door, it was open to the public.

Any news on Chelsea? I'm aching to get down to the outside lot market and antique building on weekends again.

Why not buy a very similar, and arguably better sports watch from the period for a fraction of the price? 😁

(hint: it ends with "DS")
You can't buy these either, @ConElPueblo has them all....😁

Nice and original vintage watches are now very limited, they are on the hands of few collectors who not gonna let go of them or dealers who gonna flip for a nice chum of profit. You need to be very quick and money ready to compete with thousands for a nice deal.
