Well...there goes consolidating! Ran across this interesting 1 button chronograph, and loved the dial and hands. I can look past what appears to be a chrome plated case seeing that it is 40mm and looks to be in decent shape.

If anyone has any idea what it is, I would greatly appreciate any insight. Screenshot_20161206-233324.jpg Screenshot_20161206-233411.jpg Screenshot_20161206-233348.jpg Screenshot_20161206-233511.jpg Screenshot_20161206-233448.jpg

The movement looks similar to a Landeron 48... I can't find an exact match though.

If I recall correctly my watchmaker has something very similar that has been sitting in a case for a while. I'll take a look and ask tomorrow while I am there. I believe he said it was an artillery timer of sorts

I'm thinking earlier than Landeron so a Hahn movement of some description.

    Hi watchknut,

nice find, maybe it is early Landeron 3 movement. Dial & hands look original to me.
I just have a similar one pusher Oriental on the wrist today , with a Landeron Hahn movement.

And psst, don´t tell it to loud! These are really cool watches, columne wheel movement and case in the right size...

Here are just two pics of mine, 40mm.

@Foo2rama great article, learned a lot.

@valjoux72 very cool Oriental. is it 20mm lugs?

Appreciate all of the insight. More to learn on this one when I get it.

I wonder if it is an enamel dial?

Either way, cool looking watch that will be fun to wear.

I've seen the "PFOIS" mark on chronographs, but Mikrolisk has no listing for the brand. Searching online for PFOIS yields some remarks about a Landeron 2 movement in common use:

sharing my landeron too. i hope this is same caliber. i got this 12 years ago and is rarely being used. it is mainly the salmon copper dial that attracted me to buy this watch aside from being a chronograph. actually it has 3 pushers - 1 stop, 1, start, and 1 center reset button thru the crown. i found very few write ups or reference on the history of this watch except particularly its brand 'gladiator' and poorly engraved company name 'sultana watch co.' inside the caseback. it is still in mint good working condition.

It isn't a Landeron 2. The lever connecting the sliding wheel to the column wheel is fairly straight in thr OP whereas the one in the diagram above has a pronounced curve.

This wach is a Landeron, one the most interesting - the 3 buttons version of the L 47.

The OP´s is not a L 48 for sure, and I am not sure it is a Landeron at all.

I think it may be a Landeron Hahn 25...
