Now, don't anyone get peed off, but I posted this on another forum just in the hope.

Ok, I am just putting this out there. I know it's crazy talk, but...[IMG]

Anyone in Australia got an Omega Speedmaster

376.0822 (am I just dreaming here?) or an 105.003 or a 145.012 in great condition they want to sell? Can't afford all three, but maybe one or even two if price is fair. Don't force me to keep watch on the FleaBay.

I made the acronym CAST just for this context - Commonwealth of Australian States & Territories - Not as good as CONUS, I know, but not too bad. Feel free to use it. [IMG]

Scammers and thieves need not apply as any sale will be done via a respectable and well known Australian escrow company.

    Crazy? Maybe, maybe not...let's see.

Sorry but don't wish to offend our UK & USA and EU friends but with the cost of the Aust. Dollar and exorbitant shipping fees, duties, Paypal fees, Paypal Conversion rates, etc...best to try and find on shore.

Good luck to you! I don't think that people should be offended....here in Canada, exchange rate plus importation duties makes the "$XXX USD" into XXX+40% calculation. :(
If our dollar starts to come back I will start thinking about buying vintage again, until then can only trade across, or go to the AD where sometimes the lag between exchange issues makes a relative deal. As an example, when the Speedy 45th was available:$7800 CAD = ~8200 AUD = ~$6000 USD........brand new at AD.
Would love a birth year speedy (105.003)

Hmmm, not sure what i think of CAST (as a fellow Australian). Do you include Norfolk Island? Xmas Island? I was thinking changing "commonwealth" to "continental" and excluding Tasmanians?
@JimInOz and @STANDY and @dsio should have some views

Of course! Mmmm...like the idea of Continental...but doesn't roll off the lips easily. Love the Taswegians, though. They can stay if we have a majority inclusion vote.
