Quite an amazing result just now on eBay for this NOS 6105-8110.

so how much should the SLA033 be worth in 50 years?

$10k for a 6105 diver is absolute madness - NOS or not.

Plus, the example that sold has clearly been exposed to moisture at some stage as there is darkening of the handset lume and tarnishing of the handset as well.

At the end of the day, people can pay whatever they want on a watch as long as it’s not my money they’re spending, but I have to wonder if there was some shill bidding at play with that one.

In honour of the eBay madness, let’s see your 6105... here’s my 8119 😀

My SNR033 purchased on Chrono24. It arrived on Wednesday. I’m really impressed with this watch. Light, comfortable, easy to read in all lighting and IMHO, a gorgeous looking watch.

I have this watch arriving tomorrow, super excited. I0 years ago I was walking into Parkhouse Southampton to buy a Millgauss GV and looked in a jewellers window 3 shops away called picket&purser who sold Seiko’s called Spring Drive and they were £3k. Madness I thought, now I know a tiny bit about watches I’m lucky to have snagged a 033 at a price I was happy to pay as we get near Grand Seiko money.

wow, yours is in such a good shape, saw a few of 6217 recently and really like it

Not sure if you’ve just quoted the wrong post but that’s the tasty new SLA037. I’m sorely tempted myself but for the money I think I might be happier with a good condition original 62MAS.

SNE-439 Prospex Solar Diver -- my usual travel watch. I haven't been on a plane in 9 months, so it's been locked away in a drawer without any exposure to sunlight. Checked on it this morning and saw that the watch had entered energy saver mode with the second hand moving only every two seconds. Put it under a table lamp to recharge, and it resumed normal function after three hours or so.

I know a few watch addicts who always started off with Seiko’s, myself included
