It arrived! I just love the proportions on that design.
Yes! Just signed for it today 😀 and I found a place (semi local) to service it too 👍

The lug to lug & diameter proportions are perfect. I'm used to SKX's and "Baby MM's" so the height wasn't a surprise. Over the years I have read that this reference was heavy... but even so, I was not prepared for the boat anchor like weight I would be strapping to my wrist 😲.

Cool! I keep trying that one on at the AD but haven't been able to pull the trigger. How do you like it and how's the seichu strap?
Thanks .I like it a lot & I do like a bit of colour in my watches, plus it wears very well & very similar to my SLA017 proportion wise so it’s very comfortable on my 7.25” wrist which is pretty flat . It was on the Seichu strap when I tried it on at the AD I bought it from but I really don’t like it as it’s quite thick & raises the height too much for me ( I prefer a single pass nato ) & I don’t think the colour of the strap helps either .

This Chariot that I bought for £18. It cost almost as much as the early 70s divers and chronographs when new. I put up a thread asking if anyone liked them in the Seiko category but no replies. 🙁

I think it's cool! Alas, 60/70's divers and chronos get all the attention.

Enjoying this new to me 5126-8090. It has a really fun date change mechanism - you push in the spring-loaded crown to advance the date. Not sure I've seen that on a watch before.

The vintage Longines cal 505 has a similar date advance mechanism but, in the meantime, I’m off to the bay to have a look for a 5126-8090 ……

Go for it! There are a few on eBay right now. I have some alerts set - trying to track down the black dial version and the bracelet for it. The bracelet was apparently prone to falling apart, so my odds of finding one are pretty low. Maybe I can play the long game... hype up Seiko 5 Sports models enough that Uncle Seiko will release a bracelet for them...
