·Had a bit of a problem with my Omega rail master. A local watch dealer fitted an aftermarket strap for me several months ago and I recently decided to swap the strap to a new aftermarket strap, since I bought the tools to do this myself I went ahead and tried.
I soon found out that the strap tube was the exact length as the lug width meaning there was no access to the spring bars. Not knowing what to do I went back to the watch dealer and explained the problem, they didn’t know what to do other than cut the strap, strap tube and spring bar and then replace the components. But they would not do it themselves in fear of damaging the watch!
So with a dremel, some thread, tape and a steady hand I set about doing this myself.
Success! No damage and great relief!
