You'd assume he'd be wearing a Patek or something for a large public performance This is from a recent Dead and Company show in NJ. Guessing that's the white ceramic model.
Maybe he had a workout before or after? That's the only reason I wear mine That white ceramic edition is definitely a cool watch, though.
I've gone from pretty much being an Apple Watch hater/skeptic to loving my S2 on DLC link bracelet, but if I had John's collection I'd probably wear something different for the show! The ceramic model is quite nice.
I've got a gen1 with the stainless link bracelet. I've always been a bit of an early adopter when it comes to technology products. It doesn't usually work out to well... I bought the first 34" Sony HD tube TV many years back at a cost of $5000. I only just had it removed from my basement after years of procrastination... the thing weighed 250 lbs!!! Getting back to the Apple Watch, I think it's a remarkably well put together product and the design will be one that will be admired many years down the line. Of course, the ones we own will only be useful as beautiful paperweights in 10 years time, but the design itself and construction (for a mass produced product) truly is exceptional. The link bracelet alone is a revelation. I wish I'd waited to buy one as I've heard the G2 version is much quicker and the screen brighter. My fingers are crossed that they eventually come up with a design that can be worn discretely on an alternate wrist. I do find the activity monitoring helpful and if they added sleep tracking I'd be ecstatic. I have hope, as Johnny Ive is reportedly a pretty big watch guy and I'm sure he's tiring of having to hide away his mechanical watches whilst in public. The Moser take-off on the case design is a watch I'd very much love to own (photos pulled from Hodinkee):
I like the ceramic also but was put off by the white-only colour option. If there was a black ceramic option it would have been a no-brainer for me. Instead, I went for the Stainless Steel S2 on Milanese.
The Milanese style has never spoke to me (I prefer a chunkier bracelet) but there's no arguing that Apple's execution of the type is very, very impressive. So comfortable on the wrist.
Not sure I've ever taken a proper photo. Maybe there's some underlying battery-powered-watch shame happening. It was a gift from the wife. Wonder how many members have smart watches on rotation now.
Fairly certain he has a ton of watches and probably doesn't damage them very often. The metal link bracelet is honestly amazing. Totally flush low profile butterfly clasp, links can be removed without tools, very high quality machining and finishing. The rest of the watch industry should take note.
Considering he's been wearing a solid gold AP RO Tourbillion for most of this tour... I don't think he's too concerned with dinging his watches up.
Woah. I love my wife and baby daughter. I wouldn't trade with him for a second. I imagine (read: hope ) those of us with kids would agree...
Idk Katy Perry and Jennifer Aniston... :edit: Damn autocorrect that was supposed to read "Idk that's a hell of a watch collection he has"
Wait until your daughter turns eleven, and can't stand you over-night. Then John Meyer's life will look pretty freakin' good.
