Well that is how professional athletes, rappers, lottery winners, etc. go from pulling in a seven plus figure salary to being broke twenty years later. Don’t get me wrong generosity is a beautiful thing, but this sounds more like showing off. Also not sure about how he grew up, but it is hard to wrap your head around that much money when you’ve never had money. Unless he gets several product endorsements or invests smartly his career in sports is finite. However I would have liked to be on the team just the same.

At less than a half of 1%, I don't think he has to worry about paying for this week's groceries. Good on him!

Wonder why he went to Govberg in PA and not a local DC jeweler.

It’s still 1.6% of what he will make this year alone, and 0.3% of the next 5 years, and that’s not counting endorsement deals.

So overall a much more responsible choice than many of us who spend a little more than 1.6% of our income in watches.

So, good on him, and even better on the rest of the team.

Maybe no sales tax, if he buys in PA and they ship to DC ?

Until the DC tax authorities come looking for the use tax.

I suspect he doesn’t live in DC or PA. Possibly delivered to an agent’s address in DE and picked up there (no sales or use tax).

What a ridiculous move. Be charitable to your community and to those truly in need. Not your fellow millionaire co-workers. I don’t see anything cool or admirable about this…apart from the fact that he selected DD’s.

I do see an insecure and immature person with totally whacked priorities, and all the hallmarks of a guy who ends up completely broke in 40 years.

Eventually we will hear about him working at a 7-11 store after blowing all his money frivolously

Maybe it was a team chemistry building move? A way to appreciate his teammates so they don't feel bitter about his big payday, who knows? Either way I would have a hard time comprehending parting with that kind of cash on anything but a house.

Did you even bother to check what John Wall has done with regards to charitable donations before judging him? Ever heard of the John Wall Family Foundation?

Google "john wall charity" and it took me all of 5 seconds to find all this...
