    Hello OF,

Need your expert opinion on this dilemma I find myself in.

I was gifted this lovely looking Cosmic. I'll keep things short and sweet.

    Pros:
    Aesthetically looks clean
Can set time, day and date
    Holds time well

    Cons:
    Can wind it using crown
Crown comes out of case if I pull past position 2

My jeweler said they couldn't fix it. And the omega service center in Dubai says that they have to send it to bienne.

It'll cost me ~$123 to have it sent to bienne if I do not approve the final service estimate.

Basically I'm wondering if it's worth it?
The watch works fine for now. And I'm not looking to spend an insane amount restoring it.

Any ideas what Bienne would charge?
Any third parties abroad that I can deal with who can fix it for a more reasonable cost and time frame?

    Pics for your time!

The Omega folks in Dubai said they would have to send my BOR to Bienne when I asked if they could take a link out....
They did like my Connie though :)
I used to send my watches to and fro to the Watchguy for service
Good price but getting a slot is the only issue

Omega will charge far more than the watch value. Better to find an independent who can source parts, if needed.

I'm a Watchguy client too and recommend them all the time. In this case, since it's a front loader it'll be pretty expensive to get serviced through them. I'd look elsewhere.

    Good point
I did notice their price list for front loaders - but didn't realise this was one
But since I don't have any I didn't put two and two together

The real catch is that the front loaders are often the least valuable (70's!) watches in a collection, making it even more expensive - relatively speaking ::facepalm2::

    Thanks for the input all

As I said this was gifted to me so not looking to sell it but rather enjoy it.

I can enjoy it as it is but would prefer if it was working better.
