So a couple of days ago I found this old semaster. Posted a thread here, but some information has changed. It has had a recent service and works like clockwerk. It has a lot of rust and some signs of corrosion. Makes it look kinda cool if you ask me, but hence im new to omega and dont know what this does to the value(rust is limited to the dial). Everything is in its original state. Original crown. What is a fair price 29196916_10160213070870523_1572268337428168704_o.jpg

Surely it has an asking price? I find it so difficult to answer such a question, a fair price depends on quite a few variables.

Why don't you let us know what the asking price is and post some pictures of the rest of the watch ( movement, case back, etc. ) and we can advise you further from there

If your asking if im secretly trying to sell this watch, you couldn't be further off. Im kind of a noob and just dont want my noob tax to be to high for my first buy. Sellers price is 580 dollars, and is a little bit on the fence when it comes to lowering his price. He runs a vintage store and doesn't have a deep insight in watches particular. I offered him 380 dollars witch he turned down.
Im sorry if i should have continued this in my previous post, instead of posting a new one. Have some additional photos to share:) 29214474_10160218343975523_4874029591598989312_o.jpg 29176972_10160218344890523_8114732637207134208_o.jpg

Rust is always bad. If the rust won't come off of the lugs I'd be hard pressed to pay $580.

For $580 he should open it for you. He can say that it has been serviced but without seeing the movement and without a watchmaker checking it It would be like buying a used car without opening up the hood.

I'm not sure what model it is. It may be a 2937 but mine has a slightly different shape and not the same caseback.

I think it will be hard to get more advice without those pictures but I'm happy to help with what information has been given.

I like it. Whilst not mega rare, you don't see these around every day. Honest Patina and general impression don't raise any red flags with me (others will know more..I'm bad at flaw/redial spotting) . At that price it isn't a bargain, but as it has had a fresh service (and there is documentation to prove this) I'd say it's about what you could expect from a dealer. You might happen upon one for less money, but then you'd have to add in the price of a service....Certainly a wearer/beater. Not what you would call investment grade..tough I expect if price trends keep going it might see a modest profit in a few years time.
You gotta see the movement though....
