I hope so. Not what you expect when opening a Seamaster Calendar from the fifties. The quick set date is shot
Don't know if I'd call it a bad movement per se but I've seen a couple of Lemania Calibre 1270 based movements slapped into flogged out cases with Omega dials on them, a pretty cynical way to make a buck off people wanting a real vintage Omega chronograph.
I wouldn't call this a bad movement, rather an optimized prototype. Needs fewer parts than the original.
Somebody here saved me from buying some sicura watches... ... I bought a good zenith here in the forum instead
Reading the title, my first thought was "yes, yesterday morning before coffee." Then I read the posts.
You aren't a fan of the Speedmaster movement, I take it? Or am I missing something obviously wrong with it?
Did you not look carefully at the movement ( @Archer saved the day and highlights problem in pic below ) Years ago a member sold this watch with a paperclip in the movement to another member Grab a coffee and read this roller coaster https://omegaforums.net/threads/my-most-precious-to-date-has-arrived-then-gone-again.21008/
I see. I am not good enough to spot the clip and have not been here long enough to know of the thread. Reading now. Edit: Read that thread and feel bad for Doug. Mostly, it made me feel good about this community, with people helping each other. I even feel the seller ultimately did the right thing.
Thanks, that's an interesting read. Not being a watch-maker or knowing the history of that particular watch, the problem didn't jump out at me. I recognized the movement, at least.
