Hello this works and keeps time. I’ve had this identified by a reputable jeweller and a value it would get at auction but I think it could be rare. What are your thoughts? They opened it yesterday but I’m reluctant to!

There is an interesting heritage to the company

This is what I think it is
Omega WWI-Era Officer’s Wristwatch (early 1900s)

Nickel case, enamel dial with Roman numerals

Retailed by Pleasance & Harper in Bristol

Likely powered by a Cal. 12’’’ or 13’’’ Lépine movement

I cannot think that dial is original, unless the photo has really made things difficult.

camera/zoom artifacts I would think

Probably vitreous enamel dial

WWI was circa 1914-1918

watch is earlier and can be verified with serial # on movement

Very nice

Military is impossible to confirm. Civilian were the same. Wristwatches were a NEW THANG, and WWI solders coming back home made them popular to the population.

Should have sold it to them.

Hi there thank you. Sorry, my poor wording.

I see.

I still can, I just don’t know what I should be asking as cannot find one online. Thoughts welcome! The company is still operating. Thought they might be interested in seeing it at least.

I suppose I should try again to open up- they did without issue as they do it all the time.

Is there anywhere else I should look or go to?

My gran enjoyed this watch for years. I think it’s amazing it’s mechanical and still works.

Thanks again it’s all fascinating. I work in museums but watches are new to me.
