http://catalog.antiquorum.com/catalog.html?action=load&lotid=147&auctionid=271 Only watch in the catalog I will go on valuation day to check out
How much do you think it will fetch, George? Their estimate is USD 6-9 K, but being a very nice example with Rosegold I wouldn't be surprise if it went over 15K
Valuations on pieces like this are often off, it sounds more impressive for auction houses to say they "Exceeded expectations". When really they just miss-priced it in the catalog.
I think i will go after the second one... Can some body confirm that i have to pick it up from Newyork auction place directly? (If i won) or do they ship it?
Until George confirmed i didn't know there is a option to ship...Shipping is always better as there wont be any tax. Will there be any VAT on these items?
Well, that depends how much insured shipping costs. One has only to do the math. All of this is explained in the Antiquorum website. Doubt that the auction house will levy VAT as they do NY state sales tax, but your customs service may have something to say about that when the package comes into the country.
Packages are fully insured and declared at final hammer price. It usually ships via FedEx or DHL and most likely a customs fee will be assessed. Let me check if they can authorize a third party to pick it up and ship for you.
That would be really great. So none of these watches will be in Newyork? they will be shipped from europe?
Sorry if it is a noob question... if they are already in US whats up with the Customs fee? So even when they ship it from NYC to NJ they still assess customs fee? i am lost.
There is no customs fee unless it crosses national borders. Why did you ask about VAT if you live in the US and it is a New York auction?
No no. If it is shipped internationally you will probably on the receiving end get customs fees from the courier as they are required to collect and at full disclosed value it will most certainly happen. If shippes domestically only those in NY will be taxed otherwise it is like buying from ebay out of state.
