Not a military issue, but bought overseas while serving in '72.
Apologies to those that have heard this before.

    Thanks, Jim!
Let's think a moment of those that gave so much, or possibly gave all, for the world that we have today.

    You included.

I like to say that we all signed a blank check and let our countries and our fate fill in the amount.
I think of my Father-in-law that served with Patton's Third Army through Africa, Italy, France and Germany.

I did so little, yet, I did what was asked.

The proudest moments of my life.

    I'm with you there mate.

Dad was a sailor on destroyers (WW1 vintage in WW2!) and cruisers, all the way from the the Tobruk ferry run to the Battle of the Coral Sea where his luck ran out.

When I look back at what I did, and then compare it to what my Dad, and others of his generation had to do, well...............there's nothing to compare.

P.S.: I'm visiting the Somme and Normandy beaches in September, I think it'll be an experience.
