This dial sums it up for me. I have learned to understand that there are exceptions and nuances. Feel free to share your thoughts.

It is not right. Medico dials do not have that sort second and minute counter register layout ... There are some other signs that point to a redial or at best a partial redial.

Yep I had the exact same idea, until I saw the archive saying other wise.

The dial looked original to me, was thinking about buying it and the watch goes

I am not convinced but agree it seems correct, it is a difficult call. I am also a little perplexed with catalogue image (page 223 in sala). Page 220 shows the reference with the same register layout but differences in dial. I think we need to take the catalogue image with a green header (not original) with a pinch of salt. I will stick with my original assessment but remain open to convincing that it is original ...

In this case, sala's book wont do !

What make you tell green header watches are not original?

I think the archive (what you call catalogue) is much more reliable than the big pages. There are many obvious blatant redials on the big pages. I would also like to know why they have green header. Would be good education :)

Florent, that is not what I said.

My understanding (from an Italian source) is that images documented by Sala (not original UG catalogue images) which have come from private collections, have a green header and are appended to original catalogue extract. Some maybe correct and some not.

I had an eye on this one myself and in my novice opinion, seems correct. But too many nuances with UG sometimes..

That's a good question, I'm going to ask him to be sure. However, the watches looks NOS to me also on the green headers.

Strange counters, but good to me.
Overall a strange - but legit - dial.

Frankly I'm shocked. Are you saying that Sala doesn't give any indication that there is a crucial distinction between the two categories of illustration?

Flat subdial track is usually an obvious nono, but again, I think even that there are exceptions (the UG dial mix confusion has fully conquered my brain). Just that the exceptions (except for early compur/compax) are much less frequent (to maybe a few models or a handful examples only, I know of one salmon dial compax for instance with no concentric circles)

Usually without groves in the registers beyond UG Compurs is usually a redial. Im my experience, if you have to talk yourself into original dial it probably isn't. Does anyone have an another example of a Medico-Compax without groves for comparison ?

I am not talking about the medical compax i posted on top of This thread. I am more referring to something else (the medical compax on top has concentric circles/groves by the way).

So Universal Genev dials are inconsistent, and references such as Sala book are inconsistent, and there are anomalies MAYBE, so what is your point, Im not making any sence of what your trying to say, or am I ?
