With so much fervor going on with the other brands, are you still enjoying your Omegas as much?

Compared to 2-5 years ago, the excitement in the Watch community for Omega certainly seems to have died down a bit. Honestly speaking, with all of the attention, excitement, and opportunities building up in the collector community with the other brands, are you still enjoying your Omegas as much as you once did?

From my perspective, I was never a huge fervent Omega brand fan. On the other hand, I merely have/had a very deep interest in a small number of particular references, and I continue to enjoy those pieces as much as I did when I first acquired them.

I'm new to the brand, but I've been fascinated with the history and particulars of the Speedmaster.

I am still as enthusiastic about Omega as I have been over the past few years. While I own and enjoy watches from several brands, Omega remains my favorite manufacturer.

My new CK 2998 should be arriving at my AD any day now and I'm quite excited! I had the opportunity to try on the new SMs a couple of months ago and they are of interest as well.

Who else but an Omega Speedmaster geek would take a pic of himself doing this?

I am enjoying my Omega-only collection more than ever.

Also, I do not really agree with the statement above. The excitement in the Omega community didn’t die at all imo, I rather have the feeling that more and more people are getting attracted by Omega in general.

I never said that interest in Omega died. Rather, there is far greater excitement in other watch brands at the moment.

What did this mean: "the excitement in the Watch community for Omega certainly seems to have died down a bit"?

I have no idea what excitement there currently may be with other watch brands. I visit WUS maybe twice/ year, and TZ once/ year. And I can't say that I have seen a lot of excitement over other brands here on OF.

I heard a few guys moaning about not being able to get on the 7 year wait list for a steel Daytona earlier.

Hey OP - that's a nice watch in your first pic. What is it?

From what I’ve seen there’s more interest than ever in Omega vintage.

Is it on the level of Rolex, no.

    Thank heavens.

I didn't mention any specific competing brands. According to your own words, there is great interest in vintage Omega. However, should the lack of interest in Omega's modern offerings be worrisome?

The great thing about watches is you can buy more than one brand and enjoy more than one brand. For me it's not an "and/or" decision. It's purely an "and" decision. Typically, that "and" decision means I want more watches than I should.

It's the same watch in my avatar. Chuck Maddox "Holy Grail" 376.0822. Read more about it here: https://www.omegaholygrail.com. It happens to be my favorite Omega (and watch) of all time. A distant second would be the "Deep Blue" 166.073 in my second photo.

Who said there was a lack of interest?

Maybe you should qualify “fervor” for us.

Wow. Sounds like it has quite the pedigree. Do you have any other pictures of it on the forum?

Now this is serious, and not taking the piss. Greater excitement in other watch brands ?????
Greater excitement than the releases of ST1 and ST2 just gone.

I would really love to hear where the excitement is you talk as I am quite a across the board brand guy that would love to hear where you think it is besides Omega

Not one to stick to one brand either

Obviously with new watch sales sky rocketing and auction prices going through the roof definitely a slow down.
