This is very triggering. I'm still a complete mess when it comes to Grover Cleveland. Just the mention of his name puts me in an out of control tail spin.

Especially when one gets that catchy Disney Sherman brothers song stuck as an ear worm.

Not surprising "The one and only original family band" does not stream on mouse+ I do have an old copy. Wonder if they have to still pay Goldie Hawn royalties for her one line? She was a scene stealer back then too.

This is way off topic. I did get to Mount Rushmore back in 2018 or so. I probably wore the chronostop there. That watch seems to go everywhere. Probably should clean it again.

Other wonder, is the Homestake mine was shut down. (there is too much gold still to extract.) So where does rolex and the others get their gold? Was South Dakota and California gold used in watch cases?

Did also visit Deadwood on that vist as well as Sturgis (without most of the bikes.) Strange to think that the punks who steal rolexes and such will be romanticized like 18th century Highwaymen and Pirates sometime in the future.

Plenty of aftermarket seats out there. But some of the newest 911-based supercars have seats that could seemingly fit jabba the hut. If you are selling cars for >$200k you have to make sure the people who can afford them can sit in them 😁

More robberies at outside tables in NYC, someone lost $100k watch the other day, and like it or not it's more scooter gangs. Along with the 6% rise in subway felonies, I can't imagine why anyone would wear anything snazzy on the streets.

How can these thieves spot what brand someone is wearing from outside a resturaunt or even walking down the street? I can’t even see the date window on my wrist let alone what someone is wearing across a crowded bistro.

It makes me wonder if these are inside jobs- wait staff at a swanky restaurant serves table and checks out patrons watches. Texts buddies in wait and then ducks out for a smoke when the shit goes down.

As well (and, I suspect, far more often), there are diners who are paid to dine while casing the joint for potential marks. The usual situation involves honey traps who are more than happy to spend the evening chatting at the bar, listening to your stories, laughing at your jokes, then watching as you get mugged after you leave the bar later - alone.

Clearly, James, their payoff affords them a decent opthamologist.

Maybe part of it can be explained by the diminished number of people who wear watches compared to an Apple watch or similar smartwatch. So if these thieves see someone wearing a traditional watch they might assume it's worth stealing. That's just a guess on my part.
