With increased local armed robberies, I’m no longer wearing Rolexes

I was waiting for the article to say what watch he was going to wear now that his Rolex is gone- so much for thorough reporting.
I he has any sense it won't be a Rolex!

Unless of course he has a sponsorship deal with Rolex in which case it won't be his concern as it won't be him replacing it!

I think the moral of the story is - don't be in the public eye and known for wearing a Rolex.

I suspect a brand ambassador getting mugged for their Rolex is infinitely more troubling for Rolex than some random wealthy tourist, who posts too much on face-twitter-tok.

But but but
It gets !ROLEX! in large typeface on the front of every (cheap/trashy) newspaper and magazine. Cheap advertising 😉

I live in a very very safe area, in fact there's been no real crime in my area since the pilgrims. There was a bit of a thing between the Connecticut people and the New York people, but I've "heard" that's been settled.

I will carefully and skillfully watch them for you. 😉

@Gabguzro - it would be nice if you can explain why you disliked my post above.

I’m reporting the news, not making it.

Maybe he/she is using the new 'like' buttons. Instead of 'liking' someone getting shot, the frown face is acknowledging your post and saying they are sad someone got shot.

Or they didn't like your post. 🤷‍♂️

Yes, that was exactly the intention of the reaction. Sorry if it sent the wrong signal.

It's just sad and enervating to see the current state of the world. This news could come from one of many cities, from many countries. Common sense tells that one maybe should be more discrete, but wouldn't it be nice to be able to just wear that thing you like without those risks?

I'll try to follow up with a message next time I use a reaction.

I think we all asked the mods for more than just the like button for sad posts or things that suck- and we just saw the folly with that request.

Maybe. We're all learning a new system. Took me several days to figure out how to use anything other than thumbs up. I couldn't figure out how people were adding a heart.

Having to think where and when to wear a watch is only getting crazier….Though San Francisco would be a no brainer from what I’ve heard read over the last few years.

Also shows the (hyper) sensitivity of some to even just the possibly of their post not being "liked"...

Not it at all. First, I didn’t even realize that emoticons were added to the like button, so I was a bit surprised by a “dislike”. Second, I was curious as to why someone would dislike a news post that was right on point.

I got my answer, so my first reply did the trick.

We did sort of mull it over and decide to go with it due to how many people requested it, with facepalm and angry being there instead of dislike which sounded more a bit trollish. I figure the facepalm one is the most likely to be used to annoy people and if it becomes a pain with time we might pull that one but yea it’ll be a learning experience and we will see how it goes, we still have some bugs to fix with that system too where if you click a reaction you can’t see who left what reaction and that’s on the list too.

Thanks for being responsive to the desire, and now the pitfalls. Hard to express “that sucks, not you” in an emoji.
