Will the SMP 2225.80 dial fit a 2599.80?

I just purchased a 2559.80 with complete and very recent service records. The hands were just replaced a couple of months ago during and overhaul and are crazy bright. The orange markers on the chapter ring are a little faded though, which I knew from pictures before purchase.

As far as I can find, the dial and case back are the only differences between the two. I was wondering if anyone knows if there are slight changes in the dial feet or case that would prevent this. The newer one has larger sub-dials, but since they have the same movement and the circumference of the larger dials don't leave space for lume at 6,9, and 12 I would assume the posts for the hands would be in the same place.

Both the same movements I think. So the dial feet will be in the same place. Hands will be the same too. I'm more than inclined to say that it's doable.

Thanks! I'll keep that in mind next time service comes up. I know that would put me in frankenwatch territory, but I just love the beveled date window on the newer one.

Is it true that the later 2599's had better pigment and don't fade as much? I'm curious because I'm wondering if I can expect the newer hands to last longer before fading.

I'm not sure on the pigment but I do know that Omega use different companies in different countries for dials.

It may work or it may not - the only way to know for sure is to try.

I looked up both references on the Omega Extranet, and they use the same version of the movement, so there should be no issues with hand heights. One thing that I am not certain about is the diameter of the dials and how they relate to their respective cases. You would think they would be the same, but you can never assume this with Omega...

Cheers, Al

Wow! Thanks. I'll keep that in mind next time service comes up. I had also considered that the applied logo might be an issue, but there's a ton of clearance under the hour hand.
