Ahh, back when the show was still good.

might want to do a search; there was a thread on this a couple years ago.

Honestly, it's a bit of a WUS-type thread.

I knew there was something I liked about it 😎

I used to teach typography and I have a thing for the flat-top letters and numerals that you find on many watches (for legibility/printing reasons). I redrew the one in my avatar from a Seamaster chrono.

The 30T2PC movement of the Suverän given to me in 2004 that started my interest in vintage watches.

I’m just a shoe shine by day, FBI agent by night,
You’ll need to have seen the show Parks and Rec to piece together mine.
My name on a few other forums as well as Playstation, Steam, and Blizzard (last 3 are online video game accounts) is BurtMacklinFBI 😁😁😁

In my view, Jon Lovitz was one of the most underrated members of the cast at the time and this sketch is proof positive of his comedic genius. "But it's more or less customary for me to cheat mortals in this way by observing only the letter of the agreement. For example, I'll give someone eternal youth and then have them sentenced to life imprisonment. That sort of thing. It's standard (shrugs shoulders) . . . I'm the devil." LOL. Archer, I agree with you that the show is anything but past its prime. Much of SNL's writing during the Trump administration was simply brilliant. The White House press conference sketch with Melissa McCarthy as Sean Spicer might be one of the funniest things that the show has ever done.

It's had it's ups and downs, but I think SNL has had several stellar lineups over the years. I've been a fan of SNL since the show started.

Great avatar choice too, btw. If you ever tire of Lovitz, there's always my favorite lawyer!

Another SNL classic, to be sure.

I’m an attorney and a long term fan of Saturday Night Live.

In the late 1980's, fresh out of high school, I worked at a little gift shop in Vancouver BC, near where the cruise ships dock. Constant streams of tourists from all over.

A group walks in, chatting amongst themselves, and wanders near me. One of the men starts talking a bit louder, and draws my attention. He's talking to his group, but also outside of it. The details are fuzzy, but I swear this happened like this:

Him: "Nice shop. Nice...shop... But, what to get. What to get... my son... the actor. What to get?"

I greet them, let them know I can help with anything, etc.

Him: "Well maybe you can. I'd like to get a gift for my son, but what do you get a man who has everything?"

Me: "Not much, right, if he already has it all!" [sales chuckle... groan]

Him: "Maybe you watch Saturday Night Live? If you do, you might know my son? The Liar?"

Me: "Jon Lovitz... is your son?"

Him: "What? You don't believe me?"

Me: "I never said I..."

Him: "Here!" He pulls out his driver's license. Sure enough.

Him: "That's the ticket!" (one of Jon's catch-phases)

Looking at him in real life, I could then totally see the resemblance, and he was the spitting image in the photo. He was such a proud dad, and such a weirdly delightful guy to help figure out what to get. (I still remember >30 years later; he bought a belt! So that's what you get your actor son who has everything!)

I quit watching after in the mid to late 90s and the few times I've watched an episode since then I haven't been impressed. Maybe my tastes have just changed.
