I am new to vintage omegas so forgive my ignorance. I've been looking at a lot of watches for sale online waiting to find one that really speaks to me. I really love the looks of the one below but it strikes me, based upon my very limited knowledge and limitless inexperience, to be overpriced. However, I realize that may just be my ignorance speaking. I was hoping to spend much less but do love the look of this watch. Can anyone explain/justify the price? TIA. http://m.ebay.com/itm/COLLECTOR-CON...NTAGE-WATCH-/171520358303?nav=WATCHING_ACTIVEPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
It's at a dealer... and it looks like they've made it quite shiny? I'm not sure on the the general value of this model, but buying from a dealer such as Sonning tends to add a premium.
That one belongs here https://omegaforums.net/threads/wis...hat-have-unrealistic-price-expectations.7766/
Why so much? The easy answer is the seller can ask anything they want. Whether they get it or not is an entirely different story.
Sonning are a very expensive dealer, in a small Buckinghamshire village that's filled with very wealthy people. http://www.sonningvintagewatches.com/category/catalogue/ "Watches crafted by" give me strength...
For me that is somewhere between 4 and 5 times its `value`. Overpolished ( which actually kills it even before looking at the price ) and I don´t like the look of the hands, which appear very dark. The 1´0 clock marker looks as though it has been re-attached too. I do like the the papers and chronometer certificate, etc. but not enough to justify the ludicrous asking price.
