I'm curious why there haven't been any bids on this decent looking speedy so far? Auction ending in 3 hours with no bids and with the first bid starting at $2800. Is there anything wrong with the watch? Bracelet is included, subdial spacing looks right and the tachymeter lines up, but the warranty card has the AD printed but not the date. My untrained eyes dont see any other issues...maybe its just ebayers having extra discipline to snipe at the end?

Ah yea, I checked eBay sold listings and some recent auction wins had it at less than the starting bid here. I was just wondering if this is a good example being new to speedys.

Doesn't include original bracelet or leather strap and buckle. I wouldn't pay 2800.

His price is a little high. Looks like the bracelet is original but not the strap. For not a lot more you can get a brand new one without the dinks and scratches. There'd be more interest at $2,400.

Thanks everyone, your responses have been very helpful! Since I'm new to speedys I'm still trying to figure out what prices I should be targeting.

On the watch sale forum I'm seeing used 3570.50s going for around $3,200 so I thought $2,800 was a decent price.

So I should be targeting $2400-2600 for a used one with dings and scratches and $2800-3000 for a used one in excellent condition with boxes and papers being at the higher end?

A couple members on this forum are offering brand new ones in the $3,300 range. Box, warranty, extra strap, all legit. I'd go with those. For a few hundred dollars spread out over a lifetime you'd never regret your decision.

Contact @Kringkily tell him you are looking for a used 3570 on bracelet. The price will be extremely competitive, it will be a quality piece with no worries about authenticity or other issues.

Honestly he is probably *the best* option for a first time buyer who doesnt want to pay retail and isn't savvy enough to brave the ebay waters.

He's a trusted seller here and on other forums. I've bought a 3570 and seamaster 2254 from him. Any future new/pre-owned purchases for me will go through him.

Are you wanting a newer one with super luninova (after ~1998) or an older one with trituim?

Tritium are a bit more, but in my opinion look way more attractive. Something to think about.

I agree and do like the yellow orange of the tritium patina. But from what I gather the 3570 tritium is hard to find and the 140.022 have gotten pretty pricy. You bring up a good point though...my price limit is around $3300 so we'll see what I can find...

3570 Tritium was only made for about 2 years so yes, they're pretty hard to find. Earlier Tritium, solid-backed Speedy models like the 3590s and 145.022-xx from the mid-80's to the mid-90s are still within your price range if you know how to look. If you really are craving one asap then best bet is to engage one of the trusted forum sellers from here or TZ, WuS, CT, etc. to source one for you. But if you'd rather find it on your own then better read up on here, speedmaster101, moonwatch only, fratello's speedy tuesday, and other resources before even thinking about forking over any of your hard earned cake.

Hmm good idea I hadn't thought of having trusted sellers source a tritium speedy within my price range. I have been reading about speedys from speedmaster 101, fratellos, and OF/WuS threads. They've been very informative but I agree that I'll need more hands on experience to make sure I'm finding good examples especially with the increase in counterfeit parts - bezels and the like

Tritium 3570's are never going to carry a premium as it was identical to the preceding watch the 3590. 220 bezel and the -76 with the earlier dial would be more interesting then any 3570 IMHO.

Yes in theory there might be some rhodium 1861 3570 with tritium out there, but that's a pretty esoteric distinction. And in theory would be the only 3570 worth more.

Check out the For Sale section.
Much better deal on new 2017 model with everything included.

With the recent pricing surge for older speedmasters I'd have to disagree as the tritium dial Is the last vestige of vintage aesthetics for recent speedys. The movement changing over from gilded to rhodium could also be construed as the Mendoza like for modernity, but it's oftentimes obscured with the solid caseback.

If you mean tritium 3570s over 3590s, I kind of disagree as the 3570 also had the superior bracelet, the 1498/1499 vs the 1479 aka "hair puller." Also, all the 861 movements had been changed to 18 jewels by the time of the nomenclature revision so that's another perceived improvement over the 3590 pieces. That being said any premium would be on a case by case basis since otherwise the two models share so much in common.
