Why does the forum deserve dedicated section to this brand? Sorry not being ignorant just always heard of the brand but never took closer look. I see the price point of their watches comparing to other brands here makes Longines look more affordable too.
There are a lot of us here who have a high regard for vintage Longines, the watches, the company, and its history.
Because their vintage watches were of very high quality (not only chronographs), and typically attractive, as well. Their contemporary offerings are, for the most part, relatively modest and uninteresting.
Longines was THE brand everyone else wanted to be back before the 70's. Both Rolex and Omega had to look up to see them, and brands like Jaeger LeCoultre, Audemars Piguet, and Vacheron Constantin were happy to partner with them to improve their standing.
Because they are classic and beautiful (And if you pardon the dirt), they have respectable movements too
This thread https://omegaforums.net/threads/post-your-longineseses.472/ should sufficiently answer your question
Love me some three-hander Longines. They feel and look like a million bucks. Quality movements too, many with some historical significance. Here are some I own/owned over the years.
Can't go wrong with a sub dial or a central seconds; a manual or an auto: For comparison, the one on the left is 31mm and the one on the right is 35mm (without crown.)
i see so it mostly down to their history success, i am seriously looking at their modern Record watch because it fits the bill, looks and good spec, its a watch i can wear to office Monday - Thursday. https://www.longines.co.uk/watches/record/l2-821-4-11-6
My understanding is (evidenced by the pictures as posted) is that they have produced some very cool watches.
Because they made great watches during the 60’s and late 50’s . Today they make great affordable watches and their VHP movement is unique.Their Heritage Auto is a great example of what they do for every day use and their Flagship range is still quality IMO
Hi Love the Silver and Golden Arrows ! And first time black gilt dial Silvergines ! and the caseback markings are "MINT"!!
