I was running this question so many times in my head: What if Speedy have had never been to moon surface , would it be the same desired Speddy???I am 100% sure it would! It's design so classic!!!Times goes by, but this watch looks cool on the wrist still and it will keep that coolness, if you will for many, many years. When I got mine, I was literally staring at it for long time non stop, it has a magic, I can't really explain what it is, but it is cuts your attention ones and never let it go... I was thinking about the same thing today. Seating at the airport: Rolex Day just everywhere, few subs, Panerai, even one Heuer Monaco....no Omegas at all. There is only one guy is wearing speedy and enjoying it so much)))lol Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk
In my part of Italy the Speedmaster is a popular watch among the Italians. During any given week I see 3-4 Speedmasters. I think Italy has a strong affinity for the Speedmaster and quite a few limited edition Speedmasters have been produced for the Italian market over the years.
Would not matter. It's been to Talladega, Darlington, and Dover. It's got NASCAR history baby!! Shake & Bake!
a Classic is defined when for years and years, people of different backgrounds, professions, race and nationality are drawn to it. It has had it's share of hype, but hype doesn't last decades, just months or a year or two. It is a proven classic.
Every year during the month of July we're remembered about two historic spaceflight missions, Apollo 11 & ASTP, as this girl points out on a Tumblr blog: http://moonwatchuniverse.tumblr.com/archive So that's why!
I've seen exactly one (1) other Omega on someone else's wrist in real life - and that would be the 90s Speedy my watchmaker wears.
Whenever I see someone wearing a speedy in the wild I feel like he and I would probably get along pretty well. I don't feel that way about any other watch.
