Why doesn’t Omega (or Rolex) make a skin diver?

Am I missing something? A really slim watch with a timing bezel that can handle, say, 50-100m but isn’t ludicrously over engineered. A swimming watch, really, but with the specs most people might actually need.

Really enjoying my modern Zodiac Sea Wolf and the overall form factor of it, and thinking that a slimmed-down Seamaster (or Sub) would be really special. 39mm, super thin, 120-click bezel in ceramic or aluminum. Jubilee-style bracelet could be nice…

Unless it’s 41mm+, made of a material that the hulk couldn’t bend and styled after a hockey puck- nobody wants it.
As far as Rolex or Omega- doesn’t seem to be their thing. But some of other smaller companies seem to be doing things along these lines

I would actually look at the Tudor BB54, 37mm and 11.2mm thick, seems to be in your ballpark

I would like a "Skinmaster" or maybe "Fieldmaster" is a better name.

Omega doesn’t have any super thin movements anymore, the 8800/8900 are thicker than the old 2500 and way beyond the 3mm calibre 712 ultra thin they had in the 60s-80s. That plus the desire for higher water resistance is likely the issue.

I really would like to see some really thin movements from Omega but I wonder if coaxial has effectively ruled that out now.

U.N. can built a "Marine" Chronometer (!) 20 bar/atm in 38 mm diameter and 10.8 mm height. Since many years. OK, this is not a divers- watch.

This would have fit the bill in 1969: slim case (I measure 11.8mm including crystal), 37mm dia. bezel, and "waterproof" rating. IF I had it serviced and pressure tested to 30m, and IF I found an awesome tropic-style strap I'd take this diving without hesitation.

I think these old Admiralty skin divers look amazing. I'm glad Dan Henry stole the design:

Handsome watch, except that is has the name of someone you borrow a ladder from all over it.

GO SeaQ is a lovely watch. 39.5 mm wide and a sliver over 12mm. Great finishing...

In the vintage era, Omega made various Seamaster 120 references, which were definitely skin divers in my eyes. I don't think that Rolex ever really made a skin diver that I can recall.
