As lockdown wears on I was reorganising photo library and came across some from a less-than-glorious moment (with damage only to pride) - maybe good fodder for a thread?

I can still hear my navigator saying something to the tune of...

"It's only our first practice run and we don't have any notes - slow down a bit..."
"Looks like a pretty tight corner..." (about 50m out)
"Bloody tight corner!..." (heading into it)

I listened more carefully next time out (after a bit of panel work...)

My wife now reminds me that I did something similar with my 1991 Jeep Grand Cherokee a few months before we got married, except that the ditch was full of water, and it was a small lake and not a ditch. Didn't have a camera back then - not even sure my cell phone had a camera in 1992.

This happened near my parent’s home, circa 1958. A US jet trainer attempting to land at a Canadian Forces base nearby. “Why didn’t I extend the wheels”?

I see no problem all you did was plant a car if there was a telephone pole in that spot it would be embarrassing

There was a concrete fence post that I just missed - but when the car was towed out it swung against the post and ripped down the side panels. Good work for the panel beater!
I pulled the plug on my less-than-spectacular rallying career three years later when we ended up a couple of hundred meters down a bank and couldn't figure out what led to us being there - not that we were the only one but came out a little second-hand...(plus getting parts for the Renault was more and more difficult...) - life's short enough (and now of course there are watches to collect!)...
