I was browsing my ebay saved searches on my phone, and come across a nice looking Seamaster Automatic Chronometer Certified, I think with a crosshair dial, for a BIN of $300! Before I could click on pictures to check it out my phone goes back to the menu, and now I can't find it anywhere. I know it has to be someone here....
I never tried to search completed listings before, found it... item # 130840176568 http://www.ebay.com/itm/OMEGA-SEAMA...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network Not expert enough to make the decision in the 10 seconds I saw it before it ended...
For $300 it wouldn't have been a bad gamble. If it helps you get over missing it, I don't think that's a great watch. The movement has much of it's plating worn off, probably from the wrong solvent used during a service. Not sure on that dial from those pictures either.
It was a good buy, but there are some flaws. Hands look relumed, RG Regulator looks replaced, crown is aftermarket and it's a little overpolished. There will be others.
Thanks, yeah. I don't really have any cash to spend right now, but it just disappeared so quick I thought maybe I really missed something... I'm a sucker for a deal...
Yeah, I'll take this as another learning experience. I have to stick to my goal of saving up and finding "the one"
A frankenwatch for sure. I think the caliber engraving is marked 351, but many of the parts are from the cal. 352. They all fit together nicely. Dial looks to be the real deal. The whole package is well worth the $300 just for the "unobtainium" parts inside. gatorcpa
