I want to buy a Horween Shell Cordovan strap with side stitching, but these seem much less common than ones with either to two stitches at the top, or a line of stitching across the top. I have found the ones by Nomos to be exactly what I want, but a few small things bug me. It wouldn't be going on a Nomos so the buckle would have to be switched out, the Nomos branding on the back obviously can't be seen but my OCD wouldn't like it, and the color choice is slightly limited (both in terms of the leather color and the thread color). So the question, does anyone know who makes them ? Is it Nomos themselves, or are the sub-contracted to a German manufacturer ? If I could find out I could perhaps get exactly what I want. Does anyone here know ?
Sounds good but I'm in Germany and would get stung for import duty. Just looked and seems great, but only found padded ones so far and need un-padded. Will have a good look later. Thanks
I recently watched a review of a shell cordobán watch strap, on Bruce Williams , YouTube channel . He recommends this company: https://www.craftandtailored.com/co...ucts/horween-shell-cordovan-watch-strap-black Hope it helps!
I don't know who makes Nomos's but I 2nd on the craftandtailored.com, another great place esp if your looking for all the way stitched cordovan is leffot.com.
Our own @jankoxxx makes excellent cordovan straps and has a wide selection of colors. Find his posts in the accessories sales forum.
Well thanks guys... all those links gave me plenty to go on this morning. Being in Germany though, it's easier and cheaper to buy from Europe as customs here are red hot on catching imports and charging duty. I went for one of the classic Nomos ones and will report back when it turns up.
And he has a website too, example of stitched cordovan here https://www.watchstrapheaven.com/listing/509838130/2016mm-colour-8-horween-shell-cordovan Am planning to get one from him soon!
