Who makes a quality/well priced watch box?

I now own 5 watches...(only one of value). Not sure when I accumulated them but now I'm contemplating a watch box. A quick search of ebay shows me that the Chinese are offering up fine genuine imitation leather boxes. Anyone actually buy one of these? It's just going to sit on my bedroom dresser so I don't really care to waste any money on hand-tanned top-grain baby seal foreskin leather. I just want to organize my pile and avoid them being banged around.

    What do you guys use?

Personally - no, all are in the original boxes and in the safe for insurance purposes.

Any of the various wood or leatherete boxes are fine. Really just depends on what you want to spend and what capacity you need.
    One of me favorites

I have some like this that cost $19.95

Amazon has some nice mahogany ones that hold 12 for about $100. There is really no wrong choice, just what ever works for you.

I have a couple high impact plastic cases (like the gun cases) that hold a dozen watches each, another glass top display case as shown in this thread, and a 4 head cherry veneer winder with a glass top that can also display 2 more watches on stationary cushions between winder heads, and has a drawer for 5 more.

My preference is a transparent top black leather box, quite similar to your selection but with soft cushion type watch holders... I have small wrists! Black to suit the furniture. This one was for about $150 from a watch accessories store.

About six months ago my boss asked me to source him a small portable case for him to carry some watches and jewelry when he traveled.

I found this...a Dottling Guardian Safe. I had to use a stock photo to show you because he would not let me take one of the real thing. It was not cheap.

A portable safe ::confused2:: I'm missing the point. Is it to wrap up all your valuables for someone to take in a single easily carried container? Sure, it may be hard to break into , but he has all the time in the world once he's holed up with it, doesn't he? Does it have a LoJack? Exploding paint canister? Or does it simply not match his shoes, thereby discouraging the well-heeled gentleman jewel thief from lifting it?

My wife bought me a watch box a few years back. The only watches in it now is a 1966 OMEGA split seconds stop watch and an automatic Swatch watch from 1991. Mostly I keep my watch tools and straps in it.

Its made like a tank so it's very hard to get into it. I think he carries it in his carry on bag. He gets a few questions from the TSA about all the time.

I hate mahogany - it reminds me of our old dining table when I was a kid! ;)
