Haha, it was not me but I was keeping a close eye on it. Great result for what was one of the first public sales of a Geometer (at least I can't think of another). Pusher aside (not a big deal for me when evaluating a watch), the rest of the hands / dial were fully original and the lume was quite nice. I inquired about placing one of mine with Phillips for their November auction and was told that "the value of the watch wouldn't outweigh the fees of placing it with them" and that "it was best sold privately." Their loss.

Wonder if Phillips would take @tomvox1 tropical stunner???

I had this watch on my "to buy" list last year...given, I didn't pursue it or even know how to, but looks like I am screwed.

I had one in my hands at a watch fair about 2 or 3 years ago, I didn't buy it due to it having the wrong hands and I felt the EUR 2200 best price of the seller was still too high................Aah, isn't hindsight a wonderful thing?

I suppose I'll reluctantly provide one more data point - after being shunned by Phillips, I sold one of mine privately to a collector who had been hounding me and was first on the "dibs" list. The price was five figures. Not as high as the auction, but a healthy number. Of all the watches I own, the Geometer(s) is the one that results in the most random DMs / requests to buy. Kinda funny!

I'll be the first to admit that I was surprised at the high price. I understand the relative rarity, but it seemed to be getting into some pretty high quality vintage straight-lug pre-moon speedy territory.

That and, as my buddy pointed out, I find it almost impossible to tell the time with this thing since the hour/minute hands are almost the exact same size.
