Looks like a ck2410 30t2Rg SC went for ~ £340 (~$450 w/ premium)

Based on the period advertisement in the Squelette watches 30mm chronometer site, it seems to be all original, even the crown. Perhaps not a fantastic deal considering the condition of the dial and the lack of movement shots, but a decent piece I probably would have picked up myself if I weren't avoiding radium timepieces.

Yes, all original but it is not a chronometer 2410 as you guessed

"Looks like a ck2410 30t2Rg SC" - no it is not!

In fact it is a cross-reference CK 2423 which used the same case as the chronometre 2410 even with the same case number 2410 but it had different movements inside.
Either it had the uncommon 18J 30 SC T2 PC inside or the 17J cal 280 or 283
The 18J version mostly came along with nice black galvano-sandwich dials - the 17J versions with bright dials

You can find all this crucial information in detail in my chronometer book (sorry mates, I must do some promotion cause I still have plenty of them and X-mas is coming soon 😉)

To be sure what you buy you must see the movement, inside this watch is a 17J movement cal 30 SC T2 PC (later called 280):

But you are right - it is still a bargain at that price.

I dont get it, the Omega script is almost wear off, but so basicly you are paying for the case and the movement alone? Sorry if such a newbie question.

I was considering bidding on it all the way up to yesterday morning...but in the end the dial just put me off and I didn't bother.

I know what you mean...but I know myself and I'd have never worn it and then what's the point?

It's not about which sites, it's about putting in the hours, a fantastic watch can pop up anywhere at anytime.

Completely understand, that's how I sourced my 2943. Seen so many "fake" auctions with stolen pictures and some even from this forum, so I have trust issues with auction houses. Just wanted to know who can I trust, but if its kind of secret, I'll figure it out myself, hopefully 😀

Another dumb question.

Are correctly styled logos ever replaced on otherwise original dials having impaired markings?

Don't wear your glasses and you'll never know the logo is not there

Be careful with this one. Most watches are bid up to and sometimes past retail.

Try watching Liveauctioneers, Vine, catawiki, Spacefruit suggestions depending your budget.

Number one, make friends with collectors and if you're lucky your local dealers who get family watches brought to them. Also depends if you are looking for a bargain or a nice collector watch.

And as always, enjoy the research.

@pdxleaf
Thank you so much for the information and help. Since my wallet doesn’t allow me to be a “collector” I’m looking for pieces that are in relatively good condition and spend a lot of my free time reading Desmond’s blog and exploring the deep holes of ebay.
A year ago I didn't know anything about Constellations and thanks to this forum and Desmond, now I can judge for myself if it's redial, if the case is polished, reference numbers etc ..
The other day I participated in the auction for the first time and of course lost 🙁, so it's all a bit new to me and I thank everyone for any help and direction. Considering that I am "only" 30 years old, I still have a long way to go in this world and lots of research. 😁

You should be giving me advice. What you're doing is perfect and probably the most fun. I have won auctions I wish I hadn't. Your patience and knowledge will be rewarded.

Happy hunting.
