    Hey everyone,

I've been looking to add a white dial chronograph to my collection. Preferably something from the 60's or 70's, but not a must, 38mm case or larger. I'm hoping to stay under $3000 USD for this hunt, but would shell out some more if the circumstances made sense, but would be absolutely ecstatic if I can find something well below that limit to fulfill the desire.

Anyone have any ideas, or any photos of their own timepieces that check the boxes?

Awesome watch, it looks absolutely phenomenal, but I was always confused as to why it's called a seamster when there isn't anything diver like about it. Kind of like the dress seamasters, it puzzles me. Anything called a seamaster, should be the master of seas, or look the part, at least thats how I see it :)

Gallet (with the Excelsior Park EP40 or EP4 movement) will probably meet all of those requirements and well inside the 3k mark you've set for yourself.

If you want something different, under $3k, and relatively easy to find parts for, look to the Breitlings made in the 70's with Valjoux 773x and 774x calibers. There are even some New Old Stock pieces floating around. I had a sweet panda that was in a gold case several years ago. Back then it was around $1600-ish. Their Sprint and Datora series should be within your price range.

I've shopped around for these, but always seem to find something wrong with the watch offered for sale. Refinished dials, aftermarket hands, poor relume jobs, and case swaps. I could be wrong but these 60-70's breathing chronos are a mine field on eBay.

Anywhere else to look for a good example at a reasonable fair price?

    Autocorrect screwed you. Been there.

Also, eBay is a mine field for any decently known brand.

It shares movement with Speedies 861, its bracelet is made by Gay Freres, and it may be found for a bit over 1000 $

    What's not to like?

Another Tissot, another Lemania (auto) movement and another iconic design from the 70s,

For vintage have a look at Movado. (Datachron or Datron, HS 360). Still use the El Primero movement.

Should still be well within the budget, but you may have to be patient.
    That's the fun anyway. ;)

EDIT: case may only be 36mm (rough estimate). Beautiful things, small packages
