It’s not the rarest reference but not the easiest to find in good condition either. Stumbled into a collector living in HK through social media and thanks to the generous assistance of @shaun hk (thank you friend!) she landed today, an absolute bargain. Always figured it would be a 2852 to match my black arrowhead dial example but she’s a 2782-3SC with a 354. These are such great watches, if you are a fan of vintage Omega, what would you call it? The Rhodium Standard? Have a great week guys.
The printed Omega and double crossed t's in Constellation are big tells of a bumper movement which would immediately discount a 2852. Nice watch, I really like these flat dome dials.
Thanks Chris, means a lot coming from you. I did know know it it was a 2782 before she shipped but I can see how I worded it it looked like a wild card purchase. I’m actually pleased it’s a bumper and not a 2852, these dials do have another level of charm to them. Good info about the double crossed t’s, you’ve inspired me to go back and read some more Desmond. The learning never ends. Neither does the forgetting.
A beauty! I just got hold of a white arrowhead myself, albeit the more common 2852 variety. These dials really are something special. Right now at the watchmaker for service, correct crown, a new second hand and crystal.
My first Constellation was a 354 bumper dome dial with gold markers. At the time, lugs were not even on my radar, but was soon appreciative of this example. Had to wear it after seeing this thread.
Pleased to hear it arrived safe n sound and drama free and for me it was good to meet another collector in Hong Kong.
