I'm leaving town tomorrow for six weeks and I can't decide which watch to bring. It's between the following two:

    Rolex Submariner Date SS

Vintage Omega Speedmaster Professional (1971) leather strap

I'd be curious to hear everyone's thoughts and reasons....

    Thanks!

Last trip I took a Tudor Snowflake. This time the Moonwatch. Next time both maybe...
Life's hard if that's all we have to worry about ;)

Sub date, just because you can go swimming or take a shower without taking it off and running the risk of having some sticky fingered hotel employee lift it

    I think it's obvious - take the......

    I'd take both :p

I normally take at least 2 watches if I'm away on a trip or something. Usually my favorite at the time, something else unusual and a cheaper one which I can put on quick if I need to be going somewhere less that desirable :D

Thank you for all the great responses! I'm still deciding, but leaning toward wearing the Speedmaster at first. Since I live in NYC and am only traveling to Philadelphia, I can always switch out my watch during a trip home on a day off. Here is a picture of the two watches hanging out together:

Okay, now I can say this: bring both.

Where in Philly and how long will you be here? (answer via PM if you'd rather)

You forgot to ask whether he keeps them under his pillow or in the safe while he sleeps ;)

That'd be pretty funny if I was interested in owning either watch. :p

Yep, that or a 5513. No warts on the crystal of any watch I own.

Nah, no worries. My radar doesn't work for Rolex or Speedmasters. Now if you were wearing a pre-1960 Reverso you'd have that feeling somebody's watching you.......

Results are in. As much as I love wearing the Speedmaster, the Sub won out this time. You just can't beat its durability, flexibility, and overall bad*ss-ness!

Thank you all for your great input!
