I’m torn as to which watch I like better. Can you all help me out. I’m new to Omega and I just can’t make up my mind. Any feedback would be appreciated.

    I like both.
Bot top would be my choice between those two in particular.
You just have to decide if you'd miss the date function.

Personally I would go for the SM300 (top), because it's more understated. The Planet Ocean is a bit too bulky and garish for my taste. Unless you're a professional diver and the extra 300m's water-resistance is crucial to daily wear, of course :)

Only you can choose of course, but FWIW, if I was choosing I'd go top as well. POs are stunning, but a little bulky - also, and I might be alone on this, that He valve being there bugs me a little (I'm not much of a deep sea diver!)

Tried them both and bought the SM300 because it was a better fit on my wrist.

Top looks best from the shots but the PO isn't too big and has a date. If you like wrist presence then bottom is the choice!

If your going to have only one watch, and you want something more classic, then you go with the 300mc.

The PO is a more modern and larger piece. It has its charms for some. I also own a 45.5 Planet Ocean...

Depends on your style and needs.

No date, no deal for me. Therefore my vote is for the PO.

Could just be the photography but the bottom looks pretty big on you. I’d go top, and that’s coming from someone who has a PO and not a SM300

Actually, I totally missed that earlier. And for me it’s true as well. No date is a deal breaker for me too (don’t hate me dial purists). So, given the two choices on the table here, I must respectfully change my vote to door #2.

The SM300 Master Co-axial (SM300MC) has a ageless design. It will still look cool in 10-30 years from now.

The PO has a more modern design. That means it will probably look dated in 10-15 years. Plus, it is *really* bulky! Unless your wrist size is over 8 inches and you are used to big watches, it may end up not having much wrist time.

That being said, if you buy the SM300MC, I would buy it with a metal bracelet.

Let’s be honest the real solution is a cross between both of them, the grand dad to both. The 42mm 1st gen 2500 PO. 9716F617-25B1-4E8E-B28B-458C2454DF1C.jpeg

It’s a future classic. Retro style cues but not made to look retro. Under valued right now but starting to rise.

I’ve been a proponent for awhile of it. I really need to get one sooner rather then later.

I have both. Not those precise versions. But a PO (two in fact) and a SM300. If I could only have one. I’d choose the top. Better all rounder unless you actually need to dive. Love both though. So but one and save up for the other. :p

Good luck and enjoy your choice. But buy the one you like. Not which others favour. We wear ours. You’ll wear yours.
