I got a Omega military and a little tempt to get Extract of the Archives. Worthwhile spending 120frans to confirm its authenticity??
The other Omegas never felt I need a copy...

The extract only tells you details about the watch, when it was produced - usually based on the movement serial number. A lot of things could have happened mean while, so no final confirmation based on the extract.

I have one for my Speedmaster (bought from a very trusted seller, so everything original to the watch) to confirm the production year, since the serial no. charts are not totally correct. I think it is fun to have. Adds a little to a vintage piece.

for some watches, it might be worth it. for older speedies for example, it can confirm whether the movement was originally installed into a speedy or taken from a seamaster for example - if the information is available. in general, probably not of huge value, but they are nice to have and look good in FS listings ;)

I have seen recent (2014) extracts for military (WWW) Omegas which seemed to give more info than I have come to expect.
For example it said "Military watch"
    I'd be happy with that.

I disagree that it has no worth. It all depends on which watch.

I have extracts for all my SM 300's. For me it gives added value and piece of mind.

I'm sure if I was ever to sell one in the future it would make the sale somewhat easier and I would achieve a better price than for the same watch without.

Also if I was to buy a risky reference in the future and it came with an extract I would be prepared to close the deal faster and probably pay that bit more, thus adding value for the seller.

    What he said.

I only have one extract and it is for a 105.003. I would never get one for my modern Ploprof 1200 on the other hand.

Agree 100%. I always get an extract for watches above a certain value. Has saved me from re-cased movements twice. And, I enjoy having them, adds to the history.

I have an extract on rarer watches like Seamaster piepans, will probably get one on my Ultima at some point too, its less useful on watches that are obvious regarding what they are, and for things like Speedmasters where the extract won't tell you the sort of sub-reference detail you're often looking for.
