    Hi All,

Need some opinions on which watch to buy! Help!

I'm torn between the Planet Ocean XL omega 232.30.46.21.01.001 or the newer 43.5mm model 215.30.44.21.01.001.

Here in the UK I can get the 232.30.46.21.01.001 for around £3090 GBP or the 215.30.44.21.01.001 for £3500 GBP. Both available brand new with full Omega AD warranty.

I've worked very hard to save some money for this purchase, but don't want to lay out the extra £££ if not 100% sure, and they are both great watches!

    Which should I go for?

    Try them both for size.
I have the xl 8500 with orange numerals and I love the size. I felt the smaller diameter made the watch feel a little too tall

Well the size is different... 45.5 vs 43.5.

From a technical standpoint the movements are pretty close to each other with the newer one being a slightly better on paper... but in real life use your not going to see a difference, except I think the newer one has better anti magnetic properties. I have the older brother with even less anti mag and have not had any issues. Most watches historically have little to no anti magnetic features and its not really a huge issue unless you work around magnetic fields.

The look is basically the same on those, but you need to get the one you like better on your wrist. Proportions are going to be different due to the newer one being slightly thinner as well as smaller in width. I prefer the first generation at 45.5 but those are the thinnest of the Planet Oceans, your looking at the 2nd and 3rd generation with the 2nd being the thickest. Again this is all subjective and everyones proportions are different. What works for me may not work for you.

Thanks for the replies so far, appreciate it.

I'm leaning towards the 232.30.46.21.01.001 and it's the more affordable , even so It's still such a lot of money to me, need to ensure its the right choice!

The anti-magnetism spec doesn't really concern me, and I can carry-off a fairly chunky watch without difficulty.

    Hmm. Decision decisions lol.

What do you plan to wear the watch with? Everyday? Dress? Business? Business Casual?

Then try both on and decide which you like best. Both are great and you will not go wrong with either.

The only reason why I asked what I did is wearing a PO with a dress shirt doesn't work for many people due to the height. If you needed something for dress the seamaster 300 tends to work a bit better with a suit in many people's eyes.

Thanks for your reply! Yes, I think I'm drawn towards the larger model and the price offered seems to be very competitive. I did previously own a Seamaster 300, but found it looked rather small on my wrist.

I gather the case thickness on the POs is quite significant! I do wear a shirts to work, so that may be something I need to consider!

    Thanks again.

Listen to YOU, not us, on which one to choose!

....oh and make sure you post a ton of photos of your new purchase! :)
