Poll choices:

1) OEM bracelet.
2) Modern OEM black/brown leather strap + deployant.
3) Modern OEM Omega NATO strap.

Are those the only options? If I could have one strap option and only one it would be a Horween shell cordovan NATO strap in Color 8.

Oh look, another speedmaster thread. Imagine that!

Original bracelet for me, with 'vintage' leather as an alternative.

Original bracelet and end links for completeness (and value if selling at a future date). My irregular daily wearer is a 145.012. I have an 1171/633 fitted to that (and 1039/516 in storage).

Horween with buckle. But reading the above makes me think about putting the bracelet back on for a try. I had it taken off with the first service thinking it was original and needed preserving. It's not, though the #6s surely are. However, I am skeptical it'll fit.

I tend to prefer my one on an aged brown strap with contrast stitching [not very original - I know 😀].

Does anyone know of any good homages to the 1171 or the 1479? Ideally, I'd like something that has the vintage look but is better quality.

1450 looks like 1171 and has solid links. I believe it's hard to find though.

IMO the 1171 looks pretty good vs. the OEM bracelets and it is very sturdy and easy to find.

The original or the 1171/1?

I have a 145.022-69 which came with the 1171 bracelet. I don't really like the 1171. I am finding out that my wrist has an odd shape. That bracelet is not adjustable enough for me. That is one strike. The second strike is the link attaching to the end link is not 20mm wide. The bracelet appears too thin to me. It makes the head look too big in relation to the bracelet.

I have a Clockwork Synergy dark brown strap with white contrast stitching and I really like that one. The buckle side is 80mm long so the wrist fit is better. The 20mm width looks much better; it's more balanced. It is comfortable too.

That's a vote for a leather strap then.

the 1171 looks good and is a fine replacement for everyday wearing

The 1171/1 are easily found - but I've struggled to find a 1171 in good condition and at a reasonable price.

I don't know why, but the 1039 is driving me nuts. Absolutely love it, matches the period so well. Totally looking for my first Speedie to have that bracelet...

I digress, your watches please gents 😀

145.022-76

2 horeween natos and an Omega nato. Just to irk the anti NATO crowd. Mine had an unknown Mexican market bracelet from omega when I got it. It's a hair small for me and sourcing links is not going to happen. My goal is a bracelet similar to the current PO bracelet just need to figure that one out. I know there was a vintage oem one available

Yes I've got some normal leather straps for it 😉
