Does the 69 pre-moon cal 861 have more value than the 69 cal 861 moon or they are just about the same?
Ah ......it's been a while since I got served such a clear ball..... www.speedmaster101.com Look for the price chart
It's still early in Italy so forgive me. I saw this earlier and was a bit confused by the wording of the question. Is the question.... "Does the 69 pre-moon hippocampus case back cal 861 have more value than the 69 straight writing case back cal 861 moon or they are just about the same? Just out of curiosity which watch has the highest production number?
I would think some of the limited editions especially the Soyuz with meteorite dials would be worth something... But interestingly enough they only appear to hold their value a tad better, nothing substantial.
I am not sure what your post refers to in the context of the OP. ALL Calibre 861 speedasters are rising in value for the last four years running, and the older ones are rising faster. The OP refered to calibre 861 speedmasters. While on the subject of Soyuz, the 1975 LE has risen in value more than any other Speedmaster I can think of.
Looking at resale value prices don't seem to crazy? Kring sold one not too long ago for $6600 I believe. This is the one I'm takking about. I figured it's exclusive meteorite dial would do a lot in terms of value. They retailed at $9200 I believe Nd are going for $6-7k on the preowned market.
What @Spacefruit is saying is the OP was only asking between those two watches he listed in his post, besides if you want an Apollo-Soyuz with a price that's rising, that's the wrong Apollo-Soyuz to own
Oh you're right, my apologies... Didn't mean to hijack the thread. The OP just had me thinking about the variations of value in general.
If the PreMoon 861 (145.022-69 ) still has it's DON bezel attached ( a rarity these days), then IMHO it is worth more than the Postmoon straight writing 861, with has a DNN bezel.
